Welcome to the Shropshire Safeguarding Children Board website - designed to provide useful information and advice for professionals, parents and children.

The Shropshire Safeguarding Children Board coordinates and monitors how the services and professional staff work together to protect children from abuse or neglect. It is very important that the right decisions are made to ensure that family life is supported whenever possible but that, where a child is at risk of significant harm, there is a coordinated and effective response to the situation. The agencies involved in protecting children can include the Police, Education, Health, Probation, the voluntary sector and other organisations who work with children as well as Children's Social Care who have the lead responsibility.

This website is open to everyone and provides information on the Safeguarding Children Board and its activities. You can look at the on-line inter-agency child protection procedures that provide guidance to all agencies on how to work together effectively and also at the Board's information sharing guidance. The website has specific sections for parents and children as well as professionals. The website also provides information on how to report concerns you may have about a child who may be at risk.
